The NFCYM seeks to empower young people to be missionary disciples. That’s why they equip you – pastoral leaders, youth ministers, parents, and others – as you accompany youth to be Christian witnesses in their daily, and ever-changing lives.

The Archdiocese of Denver is a Diocesan partner with the NFCYM and we encourage you to look also to them for resources in growing in your ministry.

The NFCYM puts on the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) and the National Conference of Catholic Youth Ministers (NCCYM) on opposite years from each other. There will be a diocesan group that travels to NCYC that we encourage you to take part in. We also think that the NCCYM is a great opportunity to continue to learn more about doing your ministry.

As well as the two conferences that the NFCYM puts on every year they also host regular Webinars that speak to different issues that you may be facing in your ministry.

Youth Ministry events in the Archdiocese

Steubenville of the Rockies is our annal high school conference that takes each summer. With an exciting lineup of speakers, musicians, and presenters, this conference will challenge Catholic youth to not just learn about the Holy Spirit, but to get to know Him as the living presence of God in our lives. We will get to contemplate the amazing love of Jesus and how He willingly gave up His throne in heaven in order to become a man.

Mountain Madness is our annual middle school weekend conference. Every year 1100+ Junior High students (6-8th grade) gather at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park to encounter God through a “mountain-top” experience. Each year we bring in a speaker / entertainer to host the weekend. The high energy speakers, dynamic worship, fellowship and adoration help ignite a passion for Jesus in the young people which encourages them to live their faith in everyday life.

The National Catholic Youth Conference is an exciting, biennial three-day experience of prayer, community, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers and their adult chaperones. The schedule includes keynote addresses, concurrent and workshop sessions addressing a wide variety of topics. There are also opportunities for liturgy, reconciliation, prayer and worship, recreation and special activities such as concerts, exhibits, and the interactive thematic park.

Every other year, Catholic young people and their chaperones—youth ministers, campus ministers, parents, catechists, priests, coaches, and scout leaders—come together to pray, learn, and grow in their faith. In addition to opportunities to receive the sacraments of the Eucharist and penance, NCYC participants attend general and breakout sessions on topics relevant to living as a disciple of Christ in today’s world, visit with organizations that provide resources and other support to youth and youth ministry, spend time in personal and communal prayer, and engage in service to others.
